Delvers of the Deep
Delvers of the Deep is a minecraft mod which I started in July 2024. The idea is to build procedurally generated instanced dungeons which you can use for a different form of progression throughout the game, as well as additional challenges. The idea is inspired by Bloodborne Chalice dungeons mixed with a rogue-lite flair. Delvers will enter dungeons and attempt to progress down to a boss or some other objective to leave the dungeon or delve deeper. If you die, you are kicked out of the dungeon with all of your inventory reset to the state you entered with and you cannot reenter the dungeon. If you succeed, you gain points to purchase abilities to help with further runs. The more you accomplish in a delve the more points you get.
There are many other plans like applying modifiers to yourself to make your delves harder but also increase the loot you find and your rewards, but currently I am working on building a new structure system to allow me to create many different tiles which the system can use to generate the dungeon. Originally I was planning on using the built in structure system but there is no way to guarantee a properly built dungeon with that and I wanted more control with how tiles are setup so others can make new tiles allowing for users to create new tiles or even full dungeon themes.
